Carbon monoxide (CO) has no taste, smell or colour so it is very difficult for individuals to detect a problem. The device warns of dangerous CO levels with two alarms – one is an audible alarm that sounds within the property and the second alarm signal automatically connects to a 24/7 monitoring centre (this requires the device to be linked to a lifeline unit).
